Call for Participation – „digitally enhanced learning and teaching“

<<ENGLISH>> The NextEducation working group of the DHBW Karlsruhe invites you to participate in the thematic peer groups organised by the European University Associaton on the topic „digitally enhanced learning and teaching“.

The topic of digitisation is more relevant than ever. Last year, the need for digital spaces for teaching and learning became evident with an unprecedented urgency. Now it is time to think further and to successfully and sustainably embed the newly gained digital possibilities into the curricula and structures of the universities.

Next year, in order to promote the digital potential in European higher education, thematic peer learning groups (TPGs) on the topic of „digitally enhanced learning and teaching“ will be held within the framework of the EU-funded project DIGI-HE (A strategic reflection tool on digitalisation at European higher education institutions), organised by the European University Associaton.

We, as Digital Innovators of the DHBW, want to organise such a group.

Within the TPGs, colleagues exchange information about the digital opportunities for universities. They work out concepts for good digital learning and teaching with the following thematic focuses:

  • strategy and organisational culture
  • student support and success
  • curriculum and assessment
  • international partnerships.

A total of about 20-30 institutions will have the opportunity to work together from March 2021 to February 2022. The exchange of experiences and results will be organised entirely online, and participants will also have the opportunity to take part in numerous webinars on „digital learning and teaching“. The results and strategies will be presented at the European Learning & Teaching Forum 2022.

The Erasmus+ project DIGI-HE is conducted by the EUA with the participation of the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg Karlsruhe, Dublin City University (Ireland), Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania), University of Jyväskylä (Finland). Also involved are the Irish Association of Universities (IAU), the European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN) and the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE).

„The aim of the project is to develop digitisation strategies for study programmes and, based on these, to develop an instrument that supports universities in recording and evaluating their current status in the digitisation process in order to identify and exploit potential for the expansion of digital capacities,“ explains Professor Dr. Ulf-Daniel Ehlers, head of the NextEducation working group at the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg in Karlsruhe.

Interested parties can apply to participate by 29 January and will receive further information
